The Records Administration and Monitoring Division maintains all manual and automated records on current maximum allowable rents and housing services for residential units and buildings subject to the Rent Stabilization Ordinance; processes administrative determinations for rent adjustments that do not require a hearing; conducts housing inspections and collects annual rent registration fees.
Major Accomplishments FY 94-95:
Initiated a program to reduce the financial impact of registration fee penalty assessments on property owner; Established free Rent Referral Service as permanent program for constituents.
Goals & Objectives FY 95-96:
- Process rent adjustment applications, records amendments and requests for housing inspections in a timely manner consistent with legal requirements and department policies.
- Maintain system which records changes and monitors trends affecting rent stabilized housing.
- Maintain system which documents operating policies related to the processing of rent registrations, property file amendments, rent adjustment applications annual billing and general adjustments operations and other automated programs.
- Maintain revenue enhancement plan that maximizes collection in order to maintain existing service levels.
Major Cost Items:
Costs for mass mailings which includes printing - $6,750, postage and handling - $9,900, special materials and supplies - $21,000.
