Lobby These City Politicians

The following elected New York City officials, the Mayor and City Councilmembers, voted for vacancy deregulation when the Council renewed the city's rent laws in 1994. Their anti-tenant action has resulted in increased harassment and warehousing, soaring rents, and the loss of thousands of previously affordable regulated apartments.

Met Council urges all tenants to contact the Mayor and your own Councilmember and demand that they support tenants and work for the repeal of the 1994 vacancy-deregulation measure when the laws are renewed in March 1997. The addresses and telephone numbers of all these officials were published in the October issue of Tenant/Inquilino.
