Tenants! Your Housing May Be in Jeopardy

The City Council must vote to renew the rent-control and rent-stabilization laws before March 31, 2000. Five years ago, a slim majority of the Council voted to decontrol thousands of apartments. That group included Councilmembers Una Clarke and Ken Fischer. Next time, the Council could weaken the laws even further.

Met Council and New York State Tenants and Neighbors Coalition are sponsoring a community meeting in Una Clarke’s district to let you know what to can do to protect your rights. There will be expert speakers and time for your questions. If you are a rent-regulated tenant, we need your support to protect all of us.
