I am very unhappy with my living situation. I wish to end my lease and leave.
I live with a roommate in a co-op building. The lease is under my name only. I
want to switch it over to my roommate's name. Do I need a lawyer for this? Or
can we handle it with my landlord? She's saying that she needs to look into it
because we live in a co-op building, there may be stricter rules about leases.
Is that true? I signed the lease with my landlord only, the building management
had nothing to do with it, besides interviewing my roommate and me.

Please advise me on what I can do to end my lease as soon as possible.
