Is there a sample letter somewhere for breaking a lease? The landlord and tenant are in mutual agreement and the tenant would like it in writing. If there is no letter, any specifics on what should be in it (other than what might be obvious such as termination date, etc)? Does it need a witness (and if so who should that be/not be)? The apartment is in NYC.
P.S. The apartment is not rent-stabilized/controlled/coop/condo.
