Richard,

You are ABSOLUTELY right. There is a sale/lease expiration clause.

So it is legal, but I just wanted to know my rights in this situation, and I really appreciate your input.

A few more questions. I am sure he will have the apt. shown to people during the next few months. Can I insist that he (the landlord) be present at all times? Can he be held liable if anything is stolen? Can I refuse to have someone enter the apt. when I am home (like a realtor who just pops by)?
thanks.

: Your lease goes with the sale of the property..unless in the fine print of your lease.. which you didnt read..that your lease expires with the sale of the condo, and the owner has to give you XX days notice. If there is no clauses like that then the new owner cannot evict you.........until your lease is up.

: So if the new owner wants to move in...ask for $5000+ for moving
: expenses, security deposit, brokers fees, and general inconvience to end the lease
: early.......

: Also if you do stay DO NOT pay your last months rent your security is for
: that, it also gets transfered to the new owner in the sale.
: ____________-------------------------------------------------------------

:
: : My landlord is going to sell the condo I am renting.
: : I have a lease that runs for the next 10 months.
: : The new owners may want to live in the place.
: : Does anyone know of my rights in this case?

: : thanks in advance,
: : Robert
