: I live in a rent stabilized apt., and the landlord states that he will not fix

REPORT ALL NEEDED REPAIRS TO LANDLORD

GIVE HIM A FEW DAYS TO FIX OR NOT FIX (EXCEPT HEAT: CALL HPD TWICE A DAY EVERY DAY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE HEAT UNTIL YOU SEE THE INSPECTOR)

THEN REPORT ALL BROKEN STUFF TO HPD AND DHCR.

READ EVERYTHING IN THE NY TENANTS INFO SECTION (EXCEPT MAYBE ALL THOSE ACTUAL LAWS...) ON http://tenant.net/ DO WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT WRITING COMPLAINT LETTERS.

WHEN YOU READ SOMETHING YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, WRITE AGAIN.
