My landlord has evicted me. I have been living in my apt for 10 years. I have not had a lease for about 6 years. My landlord raised my rent a little every few years, we had a nice tenant/landlord relationship. She is an older woman so I helped her out around the brownstone. I recently asked her for a lease. She has decided to evict me. No reason as far as I can see.

The building is a complete mess. There are no fire doors, the interior of the building has cracks and has not been painted in years. My landlord actually put a phone line in my apartment so she could prove to a bank she was living on the premises (which she was not) to get a lower rate on a loan she needed.

Any suggestions on what to do?
