Hi.

I live in a rent stablized building in manhattan. There are 17 floors and the building was built in the 60's I think. Our building was sold to new owners recently.

My estranged husband helped me get an apt by signing my lease because my credit isn't so good. This was 3 years ago. I am on the lease too.Can I take him off the lease without losing my apt? can they do a new credit check on me? Can they raise my rent to changing the lease?
