These proposed rules are the greatest threat to rent stabilized tenants since
the law was enacted. Every tenant reading this site should contact his or her
state representative asking that the representative provide testamony against
the proposed regulations and contact DHCR directly on this issue. You should also contact the office of Vito Lopez (718-963-7029), chair of the State Assembly Housing Committee, and George Pataki (212-681-4580), to register your
concern about these regulations.

: Pursuant to Notices of Proposed Rule Making for the above agency actions published in the State Register on April 5, 2000, public comment was to be received until May 30, 2000, five days after the scheduled public hearing. Notice is hereby given that the period during which public comment will be received is being extended until July 12, 2000.
