: I'm renting an apartment in a rent-stabilized non-evict co-op building. If the apartment is being rented from the individual apartment owner -- not the sponsor/managing agent of the building -- is it stabilized? What about the sponsor's rental units? Are they stabilized only for the person who was living in the apartment when the building went co-op? Or do they remain stabilized for subsequent tenants?

In general, the only tenants with rent stabilized leases in the building are those who lived in the building when it went co-op or their successors as
defined by the rent stabilization code (children, parents ...).
