You try a quick one on him and he gets it in on you instead. Sounds like you need a referee.

It seems the only question you have is if he can change the locks or not? I wouldn't know AZ law on the matter, but I am sure the landlord is allowed a set of those keys. But it is not likely he can allow you in to remove anything, but just to clean shouldn't be a proplem.
