Guest Restrictions

Posted by G Wilmshurst on September 01, 2000 at 11:13:45:

We live in a month to month apartment in Brooklyn NY. We have two children (6 and 3) and recently the landlord told us that he does not want a certain chld friend of my 6 year old to visit our apartment as he is too noisy. We try to keep the children as quiet as possible (we live on the second floor of a two story walk-up with the landlords on the bottom floor)but with 6 year olds it is not always easy. Does our landlord have the right to restrict visitors to our apartment? What rights does he have and do we have in these situations?
