Entering apartment without permission

Posted by Debbie on September 02, 2000 at 16:29:09:

[Rockland County, New York; 8-apartment apartment building; I don't know when it was built; I have occupied for 4 years with a one year lease; rent has never been increased.]

My landlords have recently been doing repairs on, in and around the apartment building which I live. Thursday I came home from work to find that people (landlord and eletricians) had been in my apartment without any notice or my permission. They also put my cat in my bathroom while they worked and didn't let her out when they left. {No litter, food or water on a hot, humid day.} I am very upset, to say the least. Isn't this an invasion of my rights as a tenant, not to mention animal cruelty?
