: Let's get real -- cable TV is a luxury, not a necessity. You went to housing court to complain of a lack of cable TV ??? Sounds like you need a life. The landlord is under no obligation to supply you with cable or to allow a cable company to mess around in his basement.

They are not insisting that the landlord supply cable service. They want to find out what's wrong with the existing service. It's my understanding that once a service is in place (and it seems to be already installed and run through the building) the landlord is expected to comply if the service needs servicing. There there seems to be no legitimate reason for the landlord to deny access.

: Someone breaking into your apartment to steal money order receipts is another issue -- certainly unacceptable, also rather strange.

It's very odd. The minor point is that she had your money order receipts in her hand--what on earth is she going to do with those? The major point is that she entered your apartment without authorization and the landlord will do nothing about it.

: Since you are rent stabilized, you must be paying way below market rent. Have you ever heard the expressions, "You get what you pay for" and "there is no free lunch" ? Think about what you are doing. Maybe if you weren't screwing your landlord over he wouldn't mess with you, his customer.

Irrelevant, but thanks for the editorial.

:If cable TV is so important to you, and you obviously have the money to afford it, then why not just move to another building that has regular cable ?

Also irrelevant, arrogant, and ad hominem.
