this could be an easy one. these lizards grow large real fast and they tend to get pretty nasty pretty fast. that means that they wind up savagely biting their owners without warning taking chunks of flesh from the face such as lips and nose. they also carry salmonela as do all reptile specie pets. if the landlord gets bit or puts his fingers in his mouth or rubs his eyes after handling the lizard, you won't be seeing the lizard or him for a long time...
p.s. you are lucky he doesn't have a pet snake and it gets loose and crawls into your apt under the door etc...and winds up curled around your feet at around 4 am on a cold morning...
