Last July, I resigned a 1 year lease and gave an additional deposit (for the increase)..The owner was not at the office, so the lease copy was not available.
I just returned from a 4 month business assignment.My problem is my roommate used my half of the money (I left) to pay 2 months and moved out before I returned....leaving me 2 months in arrears.
The owner has started eviction proceedings stating there is no valid lease. I had explained that it would take me a few months to pay back the rent...doesn't want to wait.
Is that lease valid and if it is don't I have to be 3 months behind for eviction.
