Athens, GA - I would like to terminate my lease early due to relocation. Someone informed me that I could do so by supplying my landlord with a 30 day written notice and that I would not be responsible for rent until the end of my lease term. However, my landlord says that I am in fact responsible for the rent until she can get another tenant. Through my own reading, I am not clear as to who is right. Also, if I pay rent monthly is this considered a periodic lease? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
