Lockouts are illegal. Period. Get a copy of your police report. Get photographs of screw holes in door jambs. Witness statements. Copies of your rent checks that prove rent payment is current. I don't even think you need an attorney for this one. Seems pretty cut and dry. If you do get an attorney, make sure they are familiar and very experienced with landlord / tenant issues. A divorce lawyer for example would not serve your best interest. I think you have the makings of a great case here.
