I have been renting an apartment in a private home in park slope for many years. I moved down to the garden apartment approx. four years ago. I recently found our that the house, which has four tenants, is actually listed as a legal three family home. My neighbors hate my landlord, he never cleans the front of the home, and is threatening to report the house as an illegal four family. Since I am in the garden apartment and someone else rents out the parlor floor, is there a chance that we both might be kicked out if it is reported. Also, the landlord will not renew anyone's lease, so the whole bldg. is on a month to month basis. Everyone has been living there for the last 5 to 8 years. If we are kicked out, is there someway we can get our rent back due to an illegal rental? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
