I'm in Suffolk County, NY where my apartment complex was recently purchased by a large corporation. Following a $200 rent raise a renovation was started. As a result I've been without water/heat at least one day a week for the entire winter, not to mention the constant noise from the immigrant workforce they have living in the empty apartments during the renovation. Can someone please tell me that what they are doing is illegal and there is something that can be done about it ?
