I've got a question I hope someone can answer. I live in an unregulated one-bedroom above a store. There are just two units, one in front & one in back. The guy who runs the store is also my landlord. The other apartment became vacant in December & was totally renovated, and now he's getting ready to do my place. We're talking major work here--new kitchen, floor tiles, carpeting, paint job, doors, etc. He should be done by the beginning of May, and my lease expires at the end of June. Since my place is unregulated, how much can he legally raise my rent? Is it just "sky's-the-limit"?
