: A better answer is that it depends on any lease or rent regulated status. If the tenant complained, which appears to have happened, she can invoke the anti-retaliation clause of the Real Property Law. That might buy her some time, 6-12 mo., although in the end she would have to move. She might also be able to make claims for the expenses she dished out for building repairs.
