Security deposit

Posted by Geoff on March 17, 2001 at 15:39:04:

Brooklyn, NY; Rent stabilized;8-16 units(It's one building, but two different addresses, so I'm not sure what it's considered).

My landlord required two months security deposit (due to a lack of proof of income they said, I'm in the restaurant business), is this legal, and is it true I can request a refund?

Landlord has ignored my requests verbally and via certified mail for minor repairs (water damage to ceiling, leaking radiator etc.) what recourse do I have?

Landlord did not attach the DHCR rent stabilation rider or show me how the amount of rent charged was arrived at. Can I demand this?
