The satellite dish may work indoors, even with blinds in place. The New York Post did a story about that a while ago.

If the terrace faces south and is for your exclusive use, you could place a planter on the terrace, pour cement into it, and place the antenna mast into the cement. You could run the cable through a slight opening of the window.

FCC rules permit this, so you shouldn't need any approval from the landlord.
