Not to be callous, but I have lived with a roommate for the past few years and I always thought it was unethical if not illegal to charge my roommate any more than 1/2 the rent. We also split the utilities 50/50. Personally, I never felt it was worth the risk of either upsetting a comfortable living arrangement or a roommate possibly suing me. Why risk getting into a situation?
