a lease is a binding contract, and if it get breeched without mutual consent, you most certainly have a case against this landlord. i fyou've already been forced out, it's lawyer time. if you were still in the property, you could explain this to the landlord and he should back down, but i suppose it is too late. you should get whatever rent you've paid back pro-rated to the day he kicked you out. if there are extenuating circumstances, ie your house burned down, it's still up to the landlord to find you a place to stay, so either way he owes you big time.
