First of all, please no all caps--hard to read.
Not clear what state you're in, or whether you're covered by rent regulation (doesn't sound like it).
I don't think there is anything you can do.
As a month-to-month tenant the landlord can tell you to get packing for any or no reason.
Secondly, the building is being sold and, if it is a small house, often the new owners want to buy the house free of tenants. That may be why he is using a flimsy pretext to get you out.
Not very smart of him to try an eviction at this stage. Now you have every reason to be really uncooperative at granting access.
