Do you think that landlords get a "grace period" in paying plumbers, supers or mortgages ?

Sounds like your landlord has been and is being more than accomodating towards you. You've tested his patience so now you get a late fee. Might as well use this as an opportunity to learn how to arrange your finances and pay your bills on time.
