I lease a free market apt in NYC. My lease renewal includes an option to renew at a slightly increased rent. I need to move and the qualified party I found to assign the lease to will only to take over if they can excercise the given renewal provision. The landlord says the option to renew is personal to me and can't be assigned. Any help is most welcome! Thanks.
