the LL asked you to put in curtains? if that's the case, then i would think that he'd expect you to leave them when you left. otherwise i dunno why he would have asked. he should have offered to reimburse you for their cost or whatever. anyhow, if you're gonna take them, why not invest a couple bucks and buy some wood putty or spackle, and fill up the holes? then you cna just paint over them and no one will ever know... :)
