bells/buzzer disagreement

Posted by brooklyn guy on May 01, 2001 at 08:54:00:

my building has two doors to enter with the bells being between the two doors. the first door has never been locked therefore the bell/buzzers have accessable to all..my landlord now wants to lock the front door at all times but refuses to move the bells outside to the building denying any contact with deliveries/guest/etc...is it her legal right to have the bells moved? She says that shes not going to move the bells b/c she cant afford to do that right now...supposedly im the only tenant with this problem of wanting the bells moved outside...HELP? please let me know what her legal rights to me as a tenant are or not...thanks. i live in brooklyn, with 8 apartments to the building..rent stabilized.
