2 Months Notice or Lease Automatically Renews for a Year.

Posted by Alex Mcknight on May 16, 2001 at 19:29:32:

I Live in Bensalem,PA. I have been in this apartment for three years. I forgot to give two months notice to vacate and instead I could only give 1 month and two weeks. I found out that in the original lease if I fail to give two months notice my lease automatically renews itself for a year. If I want to break that lease it will cost me two months rent. This doesn't seem fair. I offered to stay an extra two months but this company is only concerned about the money. After three years of living here you would think they would be a little more lenient. Can they Do this ? Thank You for your help.
