I don't understand why you thnk she rented to you under false pretenses. What did she pretend? Did you ask her if the building was for sale? The sale of a building does not autonatically mean that the tenants must move; that is subject to negotiation between buyer and seller. And new owners must still honor the terms of a fixed term lease.

You signed a rental agreement that was a month to month agreement which allows the tenancy to be teminated on thirty days notice regardless of the reason. If you were concerned about moving, you should have asked for and gotten a fixed term lease.

I understand that this is incredibly inconvenient and costly for you, but unless this landlord misled you in some way, she has delivered what you paid for - a month to month tenancy with all the risks that attend to that status.
