Termination walkthrough

Posted by Matthew on June 05, 2001 at 22:20:03:

I have a question I live in Michigan and I recently turned over my house to my landlord. Now we had a inventory checklist when I moved in but it did not include the outside of the house. The front lawn is dead, because I did not water it and he is trying to charge me to put new sod down. However when I moved in it was patchy and not much grass. I have all the receipts of my purchase of fertilizer, grass seed, and top soil for it to make it look good from last year. My question is can he charge me for new grass if there was no check in list on it when I moved in?? Also I did not cut the back lawn and he is trying to charge me for that also. In our rental agreement it states I have to mow the lawn, but it does not say that if I dont I have to pay to have it done. I only have pictures of the lawn after I took care of it though but all the reciepts. And he charged me a 50.00 non refundable cleaning fee, but he is trying to charge me for the debris {lawn, tree stuff} behind the shed but I should not have to clean that if there is a non refundable cleaining fee?? Please help
Matt
