Your old LL should have turned your security deposit over to the new owner. The new owner is responsible for returning that money to you.
Perhaps some wise person on can point you to the provision which covers Security Deposits in Foreclosures. Once you're armed with that info, try to convince the new owner that it's their responsibility, legally and morally. Please make sure you leave the apt in immaculate condition-take pictures-so there is no excuse for them to withold. If reasoning with the new owner doesn't work:
1-Take the current owner to court
2-Take the former owner to court; he will have to travel up here
from where he's living now (haha)
3-Take them both to court; name them both as co-defendants in the
same suit-
4-Stay thru the end of July-live out your security deposit
(not the best plan of action)
5- forget about it
