I plan to move in the near future and am trying to determine how and when I can "break my lease". Here's the situation:
I moved into the apartment in October of 1999 and signed a lease for a term of 1-year. In October of 2000, I was not sent a renewal lease. Does this mean I am living there on a month-to-month basis now? If so, is 30 days sufficient notice?
By the way, I am in Palatine, IL (Cook County).
