signing a lease rider

Posted by dsc on June 25, 2001 at 00:42:05:

i am about to sign my lease renewal and there is a rider attached informing my that my apartment will no longer be subject to rent stabilization laws in two years. i've spoken to dhcr and have been told that my landlord is incorrect. i am not going to contest the rider until after my landlord has returned a copy of my signed lease.

my question: by signing the rider am i giving up my rights to contest my apartment's status?

thanks,
deborah
