What about the timing issue, i.e. when does your lease expire? Does it appear that the landlord truly intends to move in? Was it an experienced tenant lawyer? If all he said was the landlord has rights, that sounds a little suspicious to me. You have rights too. You have to decide whether to fight it, or try to negotiate a better buyout. Either way, you need a lawyer who knows landlord-tenant law. The ones who advertise on this site are a good place to start.
: the ownwer owns the building as an individual. I am not disabled or a senior citizen!!! I have spoken with a lawyer and he says the landlord has rights to the apartment. It doesn't sound so good WHAT CAN I DO???
