My landlord is offering me money to leave my rent stabilized apartment, since it'll go market after I'm gone (It was a J51 building and most of the tenants are market, but I'm still rent stabilized since I've been here so long and he never put J51 riders on my early leases). Can he do this? Or is he doing something illegal? Anyone know?
