We've been 'experimenting' with rent regulation for a half a century, and the situation has gotten worse. It's time to realize that regulation has been an abject failure, and move on.

: Is rent too high in NYC? YES. Is the answer to this problem getting rid of affordable housing? NO. Is the answer kicking out all of the mindless free marketeers from the city? Probably not, but it might be worth a shot ;)

: : It would take ALOT of apartments becoming vacant at one time (I figure at least 100K). Tierney's scheme won't do that. Getting rid of regulation would.
