Thank you, N.Y.T. I KNEW it was CAB, I just had temporary amnesia! Let me rephrase the question: Does anyone know what happened to the old CAB records? A tenant posting on this forum this week said he was told that DHCR doesn't have records before 1984.

: The Conciliation and Appeals Board (CAB) ran the rent stabilzation system in New York City before DHCR took over in 1984.

: I imagine the CAB turned over its records, including pending cases, to DHCR in 1984.

: :
: : It is my understanding that before 1984, the Rent Stabilization Association used to maintain rent records. Am I correct? If so, what happened to those records? Are they still available to tenants?
