Ha! I am familiar with this bracket racket! The braket is in reality simply a metal bar cut to fit the width of your window. The upper "lip" on the top of your ac simply rests against the bar, which stabilizes the ac and prevents it from ever falling-the window frame bears the weight of the ac and not the window itself. Just to go a hardware store and have them cut you a bar to fit the width of your window. Costs max $20. You can now tell the LL you already have a bracket.
