Your lease or state laws will spell out remedies for default on you lease contract. Usually - you are responsible for rent until end of lease or until it is re-rented again. You may also be responsible for re-leasing or termination fee, advertising, utilities and all maintenance until the place is re-rented. Some states provide that landlord MUST show effort to find a new tenant. Some states DO NOT. It is important to read your state laws.
