All the messages were zapped, as they disappeared. It is true they were archived, but I tried responding to one and that wasn't possible.
True, you can cut and paste to continue threads but as a practical matter you cannot do so.
It is a long-standing practice and a bad one.
Why not just wait a week -- till Oct. 10 to archive all September messages? Won't meam even a tiny bit more work.
That's all. Don't get pissed. These are good-faith suggestions, chum.

: Can you point out a single message that was zapped? Did you bother to read our reply to the earlier poster? We've always archived at the beginning of each month. There's nothing to prevent anyone from continuing threads.
