All rights except the right to remain as a tenant. In other words, no rights. Landlords can and do evict tenants for any and no reason--up to and including complaining about noise.

: ::month to month=no rights

: WRONG.

: Why do so many people here assert that month to month tenants have 'no rights'? They have the same rights under law as any tenant.

: The fact is that some tenants have good reasons to prefer the flexibility of a month to month agreement, and some landlords want that flexibility too. Not everyone's needs are met by a standard one year lease. And the type of lease does not affect anyone's rights.
