I think that no matter how you rationalize it, you have all been locked out of your buiding. This could constitute an illegal eviction, harassment, etc. That the LL hasn't either had time, or the intelligence to give EACH tenant a key (or card) is irrelevant. I would suggest that all of you who do not have a new key, gather your leases and other papers to prove you live in the building, and together go to your nearest police prencinct. Tell the desk sargent that you have been locked out. Leave it to the LL to explain it. Also look on the front page at tenant,net, down by the bottom look for Illegal Eviction and Police Procedure.
