and don't allow the collection agency to charge your credit card-specifically put in writing to the collection agency that you do not want to be dunned, meaning harassed, contacted by them in any manner. SInce this collection agent has your credit card info, you may want to be on record with your credit card issurer that you do not authorize payment to them. Then, negotiate with your former LL. Work out a monthly payment plan.
