Late Charge Resolution

While Ace and JJ are debating the fine points laws covering late charges covered in Nolo Press and elsewhere, reality has stepped in and resolved the matter in my benefit. An attorney representing me, and others who I know, simply say that unless it's in the lease, the landlord can't charge it ... and so my rent bill for November appeared with all charges removed. Look at your leases if your landlord is charging you late fees. You may not have to pay them.
