YO! this is a joke right? how many single family homes do you see around here? would we even have a skyline if there were more than a few dozen of them in Manhattan? 8 million people live in 3 million housing units: 2 million are in buildings with more than 3 units.

coops? condos?: most of those are recent additions/conversions from rental buildings.
